In-Person Counselling Therapy
In-Person counselling therapy takes place at Elisabeth's office, which is located in a quiet neighbourhood in the Crescents of the Cathedral area in Regina.
Dr. Scheepers is specialized in Couple and Relationship Issues and in working with individuals who struggle with symptoms of mood disorders (anxiety and depression) and trauma (PTSD).
You are required to make an appointment over email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Payment is required at or after the first appointment. Scheepers-CCC accepts E-transfer, cash or cheque at the end of the session. Receipts will be provided by email attachment.
Many employers and a number of insurance companies do reimburse their employees. Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions page about information on reimbursement. Elisabeth has a Ph.D. in Psychology and a Master's in Counselling Psychology. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and holds membership in two competency-based national professional organizations in Canada.
Elisabeth is trained in sex therapy through the University of Guelph and receives ongoing training through the Buehler Institute and can be of assistance to couples with physical intimacy issues. Elisabeth is familiar with the research conducted by the Gottman Institute and uses their resources.
At the start of counselling therapy you will be required to fill out a consent form.
Assessments are conducted in order to get to know you better and to monitor your well-being. At the end of each session you will be asked to provide open and honest feedback. This is done to help you better and to make sure that we are on the right track and that the sessions you pay for are effective and beneficial.
Often clients benefit from resources, books, articles and internet sites. As counselling is limited in time, most of the work you do during the sessions will need to be followed-up at home. This means for instance implementing different ways of communication, or other tools provided during the session.
I am looking forward to develop a beneficial counselling relationship with you!
